All breeding dogs must pass an auscultation test with a board certified Veterinary Cardiologist as well as annual eye exams with a board certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist before being used in our breeding program. Males are all tested via Embark for testable disease markers, PennGen for MAC, and Wisdom Panel for PRA-B. Going forward testing will be performed by Laboklin.

Gunner was bred and handled by Joan Huber of Blythewood Kennel in eastern Pennsylvania. Gunner had four 3 point majors by the time he was 7 months old. He came home to be a puppy for a few months and then went back to Joan to prepare for the Montgomery County specialty show. He was shown there in the open dog class a couple weeks before he turned a year old and placed 3rd against the top mature dogs in the ring. Gunner finished his champion title the weekend before his one year birthday at the Mt. Vernon specialty with a 4 point major win.
Gunner is the "Golden Child" here at BVS. He is loving and cuddly without a dominant bone in his body and gets along with everyone. His looks and temperament are the epitome of my goals. He stands right at 13.5" tall and is 16.5 pounds at his optimal weight.

Calvin is very mild and sweet. The show ring is not his favorite place but he suffered it well enough to finish his championship title. He'd much rather be home chillin'. He was very personable as a pup but unfortunately I think the show ring soured him a bit. He is definitely a momma's boy and prefers me to everyone else. He'll typically ignore strangers that come to meet the dogs and will hang with me or go sniff elsewhere. Strangers are beneath his notice most of the time.

Martigan is a sweet and mild boy. He has a boy crush on Gunner and it is NOT reciprocated. Although he enjoyed being in the show ring, he's grown a little taller than is allowable so he will not be earning his conformation title. A conformation title is only part of the equation. Fabulous temperament that is handler focused and eager to please without being obnoxious and he's DNA tested clear for health so he checks my two most important boxes. His litter mates stayed within size and have finished their championships.

A long awaited black and silver boy to join the lineup! Orion is a very sweet guy that loves attention. Still a lot of puppy energy but easily managed. He's a bit more of a "talker" than I like but most people find it extremely endearing. I had hoped to show him but I'm waiting to see how big he gets. While some people still show and manage to finish over-sized dogs, I have decided that I won't do that. His parents and ancestors are within size and I expect most of his puppies will be too. Health and temperament are most important to me and he's got that covered!
